MYRTE wants to inspire others and show them how special our natural environment is. Every design, every illustration is a tribute to the beauty and diversity of nature. With her work, MYRTE wants others to share in her love for nature and experience its beauty.

The Beginning

In 2008, MYRTE's story began with the creation of a kingfisher, after which the passion for drawing birds could not be stopped. What started as an expression of creativity grew into a deep connection with the natural world.

Inspiration from Nature

MYRTE's love for nature stems from years of observation and admiration for the outdoors. Holidays abroad made her realise that Dutch wildlife, which can be found in the backyard, is also beautiful and provides inspiration for her illustrations.

Method

Each illustration by MYRTE is made with care and dedication. Using a drawing tablet and a stylus, the drawings are colored layer by layer, sometimes with thousands of colors and pen strokes. The process can take weeks, but the result is always a beautiful tribute to nature.

Encounters and Inspiration

Every encounter with nature is a source of inspiration for MYRTE. Whether it is the great tit that freed her mother from oak processionary caterpillars or the seagull she encountered in Normandy outside the tourist season, every experience contributes to her creative process.

About the Name

MYRTE, with a Y and no H, is a tribute to the natural inspiration behind the brand. In the MYRTE logo you can see the shrub branch of the Myrtle plant, a subtle reference to the beauty and diversity of nature.
