The blue tit is easily recognizable by its cobalt blue crown, tail and wings that clearly contrast with the yellow of its underside. The Metalbird blue tit looks like the great tit but is slightly smaller! It certainly does not make this blue tit any less beautiful!!

The blue tit is a welcome guest in Dutch gardens. They are smart, agile birds that like to come to food hung in the garden.
Did you know that blue tits see each other differently than we see them because they can perceive UV light well. The colours light up brighter. This helps to make the plumage clearly visible to conspecifics and yet less visible to predators because they cannot perceive UV light.
